Updating thumbnails

When you edit and save an HTML file, its thumbnail is stored in the site file. You can view the thumbnail in the Content tab of the File Inspector, and pages can also be displayed as thumbnails in a navigation view, links view, or design view.

Alternatively, you can create thumbnails for all the pages in a site at once. Updating content thumbnails in this way is useful when you are importing a developed site and want thumbnails for all its pages available in the navigation view of the site before you edit any one of them.

To update thumbnails for all HTML files in a view:

1 Display a view whose pages you want to show as thumbnails, either a navigation view, links view, structure view, or design view. (The update is good for all views that are set to show pages as thumbnails, not just the view you display in this step.)

2 Make sure that items in the view are set to be shown as thumbnails. (If necessary, display the View Controller, click the Display tab, and select Thumbnails under Show Items As.)

3 Choose Design > Update Thumbnails. The update process will take longer if there are more pages to update.
